Retail Terms & Conditions
Why these terms matter
These terms (together with the policies linked on our site) form a binding agreement between you and Touch Wood Art for using our website and purchasing our products and services. Please read them before placing an order. Our terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Questions? Email us at info@touchwoodart.com.
If we need to contact you, we’ll use the email address you provided at checkout.
Do these terms apply to me?
By using our site and/or placing an order, you confirm you have read and accept these Terms & Conditions and the policies they reference (including Shipping & Delivery, Returns & Refunds, and Privacy Policy).
If you are under 18, please do not use the site or place orders.
Placing an order
- Placing items in your basket and completing checkout is an offer to buy. A contract is formed only when we email you an Order Confirmation.
- If we cannot accept your order (e.g., out of stock, unexpected limits on resources, pricing/description error, or delivery constraints), we’ll let you know and you will not be charged.
- We’ll assign an order number in your confirmation—please quote it in any correspondence.
Prices & payment
- Prices are shown in GBP. Delivery fees are shown at checkout and/or on our Shipping page.
- We may correct errors, update information, and change prices or availability without notice (this does not affect orders already accepted).
- You confirm that all details you provide are accurate, that you’re authorised to use your chosen payment method, and that sufficient funds are available.
- We may run fraud prevention and credit checks before acceptance/dispatch and may refuse or cancel an order where we suspect incorrect or fraudulent details.
- Promotional/discount codes: one code per order; codes generally don’t apply to sale/promotional items unless stated. Additional terms may apply.
Cancellations (before dispatch)
Changed your mind before we dispatch? Email us as soon as possible. If the order has already shipped, please follow the Returns & Refunds process.
Delivery
- See Shipping & Delivery for services, timeframes, areas served/exclusions, and current fees.
- We’ll keep you informed of dispatch; tracking is provided where available.
- If delivery is delayed by an event outside our control, we’ll notify you and take reasonable steps to minimise the delay. If there is a risk of substantial delay, you may cancel and receive a refund for any products paid for but not received.
- If you instruct us to leave your parcel in a safe place or with a neighbour, responsibility for the parcel passes to you once delivered.
- Please ensure access and suitability (e.g., doorways, stairwells). Failed deliveries due to access/absence may be returned to our warehouse and redelivery charges may apply.
- The product becomes your responsibility on delivery. Title passes to you when we receive full payment.
Warranty (summary)
On delivery, products will:
- Match their description,
- Be free from material defects in design, materials, and workmanship, and
- Be fit for the purpose we describe.
If you notify us in writing within one year of delivery that an item does not comply, and give us reasonable opportunity to examine it (and return it to us if requested), we will repair, replace, or refund at our discretion.
This warranty does not cover: fair wear and tear, improper storage/care/use, unauthorised repairs/alterations, damage by negligence/accident, abnormal conditions, or changes necessary to meet legal requirements. Your statutory rights are not affected.
Returns & exchanges
- Change of mind: you may return within 7 days of delivery, unused and in the original packaging (see Returns & Refunds for how to return and costs).
- Bespoke/commissioned/custom items: not returnable unless faulty or damaged.
- Damaged/Faulty on arrival: please email us promptly with photos so we can arrange a repair, replacement, or refund.
- Please allow up to 5 working days after receipt for us to process returns.
Handcrafted character & natural materials
Our mirrors and furniture are handmade from natural timber. Variations in colour, grain, carve detail, and finish will occur and are part of the piece’s unique character. Product and packaging may differ slightly from imagery.
Product information, availability & updates
- We may make small, non-material changes to specifications that do not affect quality or function.
- While we work to keep listings accurate and current, errors or omissions may occur and can be corrected without liability.
- All products are offered subject to availability. If an item becomes unavailable after you order, we’ll notify you and refund any payment taken.
Information you provide & privacy
- You must ensure your registration, order, and contact details are accurate and complete and updated as needed.
- We use and protect your personal information as set out in our Privacy Policy (including information gathered through ordering, correspondence, and cookies).
